Youngest Judge in South Carolina Sworn In at 25

Jasmine Twitty is 25 years-old and sharp as a tack. And guess what? True commitment  – like the working-seven-days-a-week kind – and a whole lot of brains have earned her the spot of one of the youngest judges in South Carolina. It wasn’t the easiest thing she’s ever done, and she had to work around many discouraging words along the way, but she’s a self-professed glass half full kind of gal. “Intentional is one of my favorite words. Because if you’re not intentional, you can’t expect things just to happen. You have to go make them happen—especially as women,” she told Amy Poehler's Smart Girls.

"Be prepared for people to question you — people will give opinions and maybe even doubt you at times. It’s OK for people not to understand your journey, and the reason being is because it’s not for them."

It is only fitting that she spends her spare moments co-creating a group – LeadHer – focused on the professional development of women, and continues to advocate for student success across the state. Twitty shows us how, despite the odds, trusting your gut could be the best decision you make. Cheers, Your Honor!
